Sharing a map
Open your organization's maps page and click Share on a map card to control who can open the map.
Sharing within your organization
Organization admins choose which groups can open the map. Check a group to grant access: members of any checked group can open the map, and organization admins always have access.
If no groups are checked, only organization admins can open the map.
To create groups and manage their members, see Managing groups.
Public links
If public sharing is enabled for your organization, editors and admins can publish a map to a public link. Anyone with the link can view the map and its layer data without signing in: no account is required.
By default a public viewer can reach every feature of each shared layer, even features hidden by a map filter. To limit a public link to a subset of a layer's features, enforce a filter on that layer - see Enforce for public viewers.
Publishing
- Click Share on the map card.
- Under Public link, click Publish map and confirm.
- Copy the link and share it.
Maps with an active public link show a Public badge on the map card.
Public viewers see layers according to each layer's default visibility and can show or hide layers for themselves in the layer panel.
Regenerating the link
Regenerate link replaces the public URL with a new one. The old link stops working immediately, so anyone who bookmarked, embedded, or was sent it will need the new link. Use this if a link has spread further than intended.
Unpublishing
Unpublish turns the public link off. The link stops working immediately for everyone who has it. You can publish the map again later, but publishing creates a new, different link.
