Organizations

An organization is the shared workspace for your team. It holds your maps, feature layers, and data sources, and controls who can access them.

What admins can do

Org Admins and Owners manage the organization from the Admin section in the left sidebar:

  • Invite new members and remove existing ones.
  • Assign roles to control what each person can do across the whole org.
  • Create and manage groups to control which specific maps and data each Member can access.
  • Configure org-wide settings such as public map sharing.

Members and roles

Everyone in the organization has a role. Roles determine broad capabilities - for example, whether someone can edit maps or only view them.

See Inviting members for a full breakdown of roles.

Groups and access control

Groups are how you grant Members access to specific resources. A Member with no groups cannot open any maps or data.

See Managing groups to learn how to set up groups and control access.
