Inviting members

Add people to your organization so they can view and work with your maps and data. Only org Admins and Owners can manage members.

Open your organization, then click Admin in the left sidebar. The admin section shows your member list and groups side by side.

Roles

Every member has a role that determines what they can do across the whole organization.

RoleWhat they can do
OwnerFull control: billing, settings, and can delete the organization. Only one Owner per org.
AdminInvite and remove members, change roles, manage groups. Has access to all maps and data.
Org EditorCreate and edit all maps, feature layers, and data sources. Cannot manage members or groups.
MemberCan only see maps and data that their groups have been explicitly granted access to.

Owners, Admins, and Org Editors always have access to everything - groups only apply to Members.

Inviting someone

  1. In the Members panel, click Generate link under Invite to organization.
  2. Copy the link and send it to the person you want to add.
  3. When they open the link and sign in, they join the organization as a Member.

Invite links expire after a set period. Generate a new one if the old link no longer works.

To invite someone directly into a group, generate the invite from inside the group instead. See Managing groups.

Changing a role

  1. Find the member in the list and hover to reveal the Edit button.
  2. Click their role badge, or click Edit, to open the role picker.
  3. Select a new role. The change takes effect immediately.

The Owner role cannot be reassigned from this panel.

Removing a member

  1. Hover a member row and click Remove.
  2. Confirm the prompt.

Removed members lose all access immediately, including any group memberships.

No access warning

A member with no groups and the Member role sees a red No access badge. They are in the organization but cannot open any maps or data until they are added to at least one group.
